having obtained cost details from the main contractor, the drawing up of a contract and pre-commencement briefing can take up to 7-14 days from notification of the acceptance of the tender sum and the final analysis of the contract requirements i.e. fabrication of beams or other specialist items. obviously this simple brief on the general processes involved to take a building from an idea to the physical structure, cannot do adequate justice to actual practices involved in the procedures necessary. but we hope it removes some of the smoke and mirrors so often perceived.
